I am a judgment expert who writes a lot. Because I've got at least a somewhat popular website, each day I get at least ten emails (spams) from people saying they can help me with our web site. A typical email sent (often with several words spelled wrong) very often similar to this:

"My name is Ms. SEO Expert, e-mail new customer manager. We are a website development and designing company based in India working for a large number of customers in USA, UK, and Australia. Our network includes more than 100 professionals that do the very best work. As our special promotional offer, we are designing 4-5 page web site in HTML 5 for $150 per web site, with an expert custom design based on your supplied content sent to us in text, your domain and hosting, and your pictures (one complimentary revision included). At an additional charge, we can offer you additional design services, WordPress, and/or a customized blog. Please contact us so we can show you our past work and our web site."

There's three problems with such email offers:

1) They usually come from e-mails not associated with any company, (e.g.) for example seoexpert_rajaan_wwwman@gmail.com. If they have a company and a web site; should not their e-mail come from their domain, for example: seoexpert_rajaan_wwwman@WWWExperts17.com?

2) Usually, what's on your website (your content) and how, and the amount of time that you market it, is a lot more important than how it is designed. One should usually not be expecting a miracle from a typical web site redesign.

3) Nearly every time, such email offers don't give any specific comments or suggestions for your current site. Each website has its own needs, features, and needs for a redesign.

Simply because you can redesign a website, does not mean you should. Great web site redesigns usually come incrementally over time, and/or from a well-thought-out plan for their redesign.

Redesigning your web site is something to do when it needs doing, not something to do every (e.g., 3) years. Also, certain websites (for example, ours) stay relatively complicated for a reason; to help screen out tire-kickers, and help bring in the more intelligent people, and/or at least people willing to read what is on the site.

Another e-mail offer sent to folks having at least somewhat large and well-known web site, like this: "If you sign up with us this month, we can offer you our special price of one hundred and fifty dollars a month, so you will achieve top search engine optimization results. Each month, we will enter 200 manual directory submissions, 50 social bookmarking submissions, write both a press release and an article mentioning your web site, write reviews on over twenty blogs; and will also review your keywords, title tags, meta words, and more."

Professional search engine optimization companies or solutions are expensive, costing money and/or time. The problem when you use most of the cheap search engine optimization optimization companies is they give you false promises. The big search engines sometimes ignore or penalize those having lots of external links designed only to trick the search engines. When you sign up with a cheap search engine optimization promoting company, you might possibly damage your site's rank.

The large search engines care overwhelmingly about two things above anything else; the quality and quantity of the content on your web site, and how many other authoritative web sites mention and link to your site having their own high-quality relevant content.
